From 15 Sep 2007, China adjust the policy of refunding taxes on exported goods that the tax rebates for stone export is cancelled from original 6% to zero.

 

A general manager who has an export turnover of over RMB10,000,000 said that would bring bad affection in stone industry especially export market. They have been under discussion on how to deal with the old project under the new policy, e.g. how to adjust the export price and how to reduce the loss owing to this change. They will probably reduce the export but not totally cancel. To improve the technology content, enhancing the brand consciousness and expanding the export channel will be the keystone for their future development.

 

Specialist speculates that most trade companies will turn their attention to domestic market. In one word, this policy brings lots of competition and challenge to China stone industry.
